Huffington’s Out, Jenner’s In, and More

Breaking news, trending stories, industry intel:
This is the S/ List.

1. The Huffington Post is officially Huffington-less as their leading lady announced both her departure and destination.

“After 11 years at the helm of The Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington is resigning as the news site’s editor-in-chief to focus on a new health and wellness company she’s starting up.”

2. Kendall Jenner lands the coveted September cover of Vogue.

“In news that should startle exactly no one, Kendall Jenner is on the cover of Vogue‘s all-powerful September issue. After receiving her very own special-edition of the glossy in March, Jenner has been fated to receive a full-fledged non-subscriber cover any month now.”

3. H&M misses the mark by casting Ashley Graham in their latest campaign, but announces they aren’t stocking plus sizes in-store.

4. Nature’s summer light show is peaking tonight and tomorrow.

“Every year in August, the Swift-Tuttle comet puts on a brilliant show. When the Earth plows into its wake, tiny bits of debris left behind from the comet slam into our atmosphere at 132,000 miles per hour, reach temperatures of 3,000 to 10,000 degrees, and streak across the sky in what we call the Perseid meteor shower.”

5. Kristin Armstrong wins gold at 42, making her the first ever athlete to win three consecutive gold medals in the same event.

“After Kristin Armstrong won the Olympic gold medal in the women’s cycling time trial, she told reporters that she’d faced questions about why, at 42, she’d come out of retirement to compete, despite her age (she was the oldest woman in the field by seven years) and multiple hip surgeries. According to NPR, Armstrong simply told them, ‘because I can.'”
