Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons welcomed back their dreamy, fur-covered landscape by architect Rem Koolhaas that was used last month for the brand’s menswear Fall/Winter 2021 collection. The co-created lineup, presented virtually from Milan, was inspired by spaces between conventional polar opposites—practicality and extravagance, masculine and feminine, and structure and fluidity. The collection mixes contrasting prints and tailored suiting, with a big emphasis on layering, showing how clothes can be functional for the modern woman while still incorporating bold decorative elements. New forms of outerwear were shown in sequins and faux fur fabrications to further complement the show’s plush interior setting.
In support of the circular economy, the Prada Group is committing to upcycle the materials utilized in the set from both the men’s and women’s shows, allowing the fabrics to find a new life through pop-ups and other projects around the world.
