In the show notes, Creative Director Alessandro Michele describes Gucci‘s Fall/Winter 2020 Ready-to-Wear collection as “an unrepeatable ritual.” Michele considers Fashion Week shows to be rituals and wanted the house’s latest show to be truly live—complete with WhatsApp invitations and a transparent unveiling, showing the usually intimate behind-the-scenes process of hair, makeup, and model dressing, and giving the BTS teams a spotlight of their own. The collection has Gucci-esque features such as leather, embroidery, and frills, showcasing an innovative and poetic collection in true Gucci fashion. “I have always considered the fashion show as a magic event bursting with enchantment. A liturgical action that suspends the ordinary, loading it with an excess of intensity. A procession of epiphanies and expanded thoughts that settle into a different partition of the sensible,” Michele reveals.
