On December 1st Alexander McQueen unveiled its flagship store in Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall, marking the brand’s first stand-alone retail location in Canada. To capture the brand’s essence, creative director Sarah Burton tapped architect Smiljan Radić, who adapted the vision for his Right Angle House in Chile to the McQueen retail experience. References to the house are evident in the geometric forms used to define pathways that lead visitors throughout the interior. Coinciding with the store opening is a pop-up dedicated to The Curve bag that is on display until December 23rd. Alluring digital screens surround the temporary space for an immersive shopping experience, highlighting the brand’s iconic handbag and the new seasonal colourways available.
