It’s good news for our hair this summer because Dyson’s latest launch is so cool it’s the hottest new hair tool on the market. Now, hear us out. The world’s #1 awarded styling tool has been made even better than ever with new attachments powered by a new and improved Coanda effect that hides flyaways while shaping the best curls.
So, what can you expect? Well for starters, the new multi-styler now works for more hair types and styles without using extreme heat. The next generation of stylers also have a cool rotating tip, so it’s easier and faster than ever to achieve Instagram-worthy curls and waves without heat damage. The results mean healthier hair for us all.
“The new Dyson Airwrap multi-styler is a game changer,” says Dyson Global Styling Ambassador, Matthew Collins. “I am most excited about the styling barrels, which now you can use to create curls in either direction from one barrel. You simply twist the cool tip on top to change the direction, making for a much more seamless styling experience,” he explains. Since you can go from wet to dry using just one tool, you can really cut down on drying too according to Collins.

When it comes to creating looks, Collins suggests thinking about your style first. “Prep your hair accordingly to get a longer lasting look,” says Collins. “First, rough dry your hair with the Coanda smoothing dryer until about 70-80%. You need some moisture in your hair to allow the curls to set.” Before using the barrels, Collins suggests applying the right wet products. Something for volume or texture is perfect for thinner hair, and something smoothing or with anti-frizz benefits for thicker hair types is best.
“If you want looser waves, use the larger 40mm barrel, tighter ones use the 30mm,” advises Collins. “And if you’re looking to achieve a smooth and sleek look, use the brushes. If you have finer hair, use the soft smoothing brush with the nibs to create extra tension and if you have coarser or curlier hair, use the firm smoothing brush,” he adds. Either way, he suggests using the Coanda smoothing dryer at the end in flyaway mode to tame any final frizzies.
