S/ Celebrates the Launch of its Summer 2016 Issue

Last night, Toronto’s socialites, art aficionados, and industry insiders gathered in the QRC West building to celebrate the launch of S/ magazine’s summer 2016 issue. With its breathtaking design, the urban skyscraper provided an ideal spot for a night of luxury and indulgence.

While not sipping cocktails or nibbling on the vegan Kupfert & Kim hors d’oeuvres offered, guests were amused by the series of activations and installations designed around the venue. Two dazzling fashion editorials found in the pages of S/’s summer issue were brought to life: guests first entered the party through an installation built of Chinatown paraphernalia inspired by Shanghai Cowgirl, a vibrant spread shot amongst the neon lights of Toronto’s neighbourhood; and on the opposite side of the venue, guests could battle each other at arcade games like ice ball, inspired by Prize Possessions, a whimsical accessories shoot shot at Canada’s Wonderland. Moroccanoil displayed their oh-so-effective Texture Collection, while a YSL Beauty booth offered guests a sample of their new rainbow-hued Vinyl Couture mascara line. Meanwhile, a bold, orange-toned Pfaff McLaren car was on display and an enchanted garden showcasing a curated selection of looks from Salvatore Ferragamo’s fall/winter 2016 collection drew in crowds for selfie-snapping joy.
