Prada Stages Simultaneous Shows in Shanghai and Milan for Spring/Summer 2022

Co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons debuted their first in-person runway production with the Prada Spring/Summer 2022 collection, presented simultaneously in two places at once. Bringing together two groups of guests, Prada showed at both the Deposito of the Fondazione Prada in Milan and Bund 1 in Shanghai, where attendees could view the synchronized presentations both in person and on video screens, creating a modern community. The collection, titled Seduction, Stripped Down, focused on “seduction through reduction,” and the process of emphasizing sexuality through clothing that accentuated or exposed the body. Evening wear was integrated into the everyday wardrobe by paring down designs to their core, such as the faint details of where corsetry may have been or an outline of a bra, but done in a more wearable fashion. Mini dresses, elegant trains, and slingback kitten heels made for the perfect balance of sweet and sultry as Raf and Miuccia redefine sexy for the future.
