Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2021 Women’s Collection was shown today in Paris and via live stream where people around the world enjoyed a virtual front-row experience. The collection not only blurs the lines between masculine and feminine, but dissolves them completely. “Louis Vuitton sets out to discover by abolishing these last boundaries,” says Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiere, who wants anyone to wear and explore the collection, regardless of their gender identification. Models walked the runway to sounds directed by Woodkid, while the scenography featured fragments of Wim Wenders’s Wings of Desire. The sportif collection featured oversized trench coats, voluminous trousers, as well as novelty sweatshirts and t-shirts, with the opening number featuring a sweater with the powerful and au courant message, “VOTE”.
