For the Spring 2024 Haute Couture collection, Kim Jones, the FENDI Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear, orchestrated a dialogue between poetry and reality. The sleek collection focuses on the person wearing the pieces, the silhouettes, and the skill of the craftsmanship that brings it all together at the FENDI ateliers. The collection explores a concept of ‘human futurism’ that connects constants from the past to shape the present and future, blurring the lines between structure and decoration through geometric pattern cutting in fabrics like silk gazar to create volumes with both lightness and structure. Models made their way down the runway to a score by composer Max Richter, a continued collaboration with Kim Jones, that echoed his concept of precision and emotion.
The idea of precious practicality extends to the handbags in the collection, particularly the bespoke Baguette bags. Crafted from materials such as mink-lined supple crocodile and adorned with fringed embroideries, these bags embody a luxurious yet functional approach. Additionally, the runway introduces the FENDI Gems Baguette bags, exemplifying meticulous craftsmanship and the use of precious materials.
