Stuart Vevers‘s Fall 2022 collection for Coach, aptly titled “Somewhere in America,” resembles a charming life in a small town, with its runway scenography recreating an imaginary suburban sprawl, rendered in a colour palette that is characteristic of the leather goods house. The clothing on display largely consists of time-honoured American sartorial classics including leather and shearling outerwear, which are contrasted with romantic lace and crocheted dresses. Furthermore, the brand’s Sling bag from 1964 made a timely reappearance in an updated colour palette, while other pieces were created in collaboration with graffiti artists Mint&Serf.

“My collections often begin with a feeling, and for Fall, the feeling was love,” said Vevers. “To express this, the collection explores tensions between romance and toughness to reinvestigate Coach heritage. I liked the idea of creating a nostalgic world somewhere in America seen through a widescreen lens, mixing the energy of today with the nostalgia for pop culture that has always inspired me.”
