Maria Grazia Chiuri designed the Dior Spring/Summer 2020 collection with Catherine Dior (Christian Dior’s sister, nicknamed Miss Dior) in mind. More specifically, the collection was inspired by Catherine Dior’s passion for flowers and the photographs of her surrounded by beautiful floral gardens. Dior was a dedicated gardener, and it was important for Chiuri to create a collection that raised the question of what caring for plants and flowers means today. Creating an “inclusive garden” to show the SS 2020 collection in, the trees planted by landscapers at the Paris Longchamp Hippodrome will stay and continue to blossom as time goes on.
