Chanel Presents A Karl Lagerfeld-Inspired Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2020/21 Collection

Virgine Viard presented CHANEL‘s Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2020/21 Collection virtually this morning which was influenced by Karl Lagerfeld’s bold retro archives. “I was thinking about a punk princess coming out of ‘Le Palace’ at dawn,” reveals creative director Virginie. “With a taffeta dress, big hair, feathers and lots of jewellery. This collection is more inspired by Karl Lagerfeld than Gabrielle Chanel. Karl would go to ‘Le Palace’, he would accompany these very sophisticated and very dressed up women, who were very eccentric too.”

The 30-look lineup worn by models and friends of the house, Adut Akech and Rianne Van Rompaey, features ornate embellishments, flashes of pink tweed, and punk-inspired party dresses paired with jewels from the CHANEL High Jewelry collections.
