Fendi is turning its attention to what’s going on beneath the clothing: the secret layer that feels most intimate. Across the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, undergarments reveal themselves or remain concealed, mirroring the body’s own ability to hide or show itself. For her third collection for the house, Maria Grazia Chiuri extends this idea of revealing and masking, while leaning into Fendi’s signatures of fur and leather. The latter sets the tone for the first look, forming punk-inspired accessories.

Down a mirrored-lined runway, undergarments were gracefully exposed. The pieces were adorned with lace, embroidery, and contrasting colours. These details sneakily peek out from the clothes, making polished looks feel more relaxed. They’re hidden yet seen. Obvious yet discreet.

The collection also emphasizes mixing; just as bodies mix, the garments mingle through layering across shapes, lengths, materials, and textures. Chiuri loves to explore contrasts—glossy versus matte, light against heavy, punk versus bourgeois. Or undergarments styled as outerwear, with a flirty dressing gown made casual enough to wear outside.

The show notes later clarify that there are no conformities or hierarchies, clothing is not limited by gender, and it celebrates the body instead of constraining or hiding it. What’s beneath is accentuated, both literally and figuratively.
