Pink Makeup: Try Spring’s Most Playful Beauty Trend

Capture the light in striking fuchsia and lush magenta makeup looks.

FULL CIRCLE

Step outside the norm with a two-tone rounded eye. Using complementary pinks like those found in YSL Beauty’s Shimmer Rush All-Over Palette, begin with a soft matte shade on the lids and blend with a bolder hue in a circular shape around the eyes.

IN THE WINGS

More is more with a statement fuchsia cat eye. Sweep a bright pink matte shadow like Fashion Frenzy in an exaggerated wing from inner corners to beyond the brow bone, dusting overtop with a shimmery magenta such as Candy Land, both from MAC Cosmetics’ In Monochrome: Candy Yum-Yum collection.

RISE AND SHINE

For an iridescent rosy lip, opt for a velvety texture with eye-catching flecks of shimmer. Bite Beauty’s Crystal Crème Shimmer Lip Crayon in Rosé Glacé is a universally flattering warm pink that dazzles with a metallic finish.

HOLD FAST

Retire your traditional red nail in favour of CND’s commanding Femme Fatale magenta shade.

STAR POWER

Try an asymmetrical iteration of an ombré lip for a trend refresh. Start by applying a deep pink hue on one corner, like Sephora Collection’s Rouge Smooth Shine Lip Crayon in Jackpot, working toward the centre, and blend with a softer rose shade, like Que Bella, on the opposite side.

BED OF ROSES

For an amplified romantic flush, choose a ripe berry hue like Buxom’s Wanderlust Primer-Infused Blush in Goa and extend it past cheekbones to softly encircle the eyes.
