Though I’ve never been one to overcomplicate my skincare or makeup routine, I found myself simplifying both even more this year. For skincare, I’ve been relying on a few core products daily. I made the decision to stop wearing foundation a few years ago and have since found applying a silky SPF works as the most luxurious feeling final step in my skincare process. For makeup, I still wear my tried-and-true liquid eyeliner and mascara combo daily, as I have for as long as I can remember. This year I tried the liquid liner from 19/99 and it’s made its way to my top contender. My favourite finishing touch is always fragrance. The Prada Paradoxe Intense has been my go-to this year, it’s always guaranteed to get me compliments.

When it comes to beauty, I like to keep things minimal, but this year I’ve started playing with more products. My recent discovery is the freckle paint by Saltyface, it’s fun to pretend like I’ve been out in the sun for too long. One go-to of mine has been Guerlain’s Rouge G lipstick, I love the mirrored case that makes touch ups easy. Lastly, BareMinerals’ blush/bronzer is a nice finishing touch to add a bit of glow and always leaves me feeling complete.

This year I made a big effort to step out of my comfort zone. For a couple years I’ve had friends rave about the results they’ve had with various LED face masks and decided to finally try one out myself and determine if they’re worth all the hype. While it’s only been in my daily routine for a short period, I’ve already seen improvements and been receiving compliments on my skin. Makeup wise, I’ve slowly been entertaining a bit more colour again. I’m finding a subtle hint of pink on the lips is not overpowering and really makes a noticeable difference with my colouring.

This year, I tried many new products that quickly became some of my favourites. From the cult favourite rhode Glazing Milk, to the creamy formula of the NUDESTIX Nudie in Sunkissed, my makeup and skincare routine are forever changed for the better thanks to these products.
