One Haute Couture Show, 46 Stunning Beauty Looks

Haute Couture has always been the antithesis of cookie-cutter fashion, mass-production, and anything one-size-fits-all, and this year Peter Philips brought couture’s reigning concept of tailoring, and customization to the beauty looks at Dior’s Fall/Winter 2016/17 Haute Couture runway.

For the show, Philips used black eye liner (and on a few of the models, a lustrous metallic gold) to give each of the 46 models a customized, eye-enhancing, graphic eye tailored to enhance their own individual eye shape. “Whether exaggerated, underlined, framed, or ringed, the eyes were the dominant feature,” says Philips. “It was a challenge to customize the look each time in an unusual an audacious way, creating make-up that was made-to-measure, just like Haute Couture is,” he says.

To complement the show’s stand-out eyes, model’s faces were kept fresh and natural, with full (but groomed) brows, and softly rosy cheeks. Lips boasted a natural flush and a hit of shine courtesy of Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm in Pink and Dior Addict Lip Glow Pomade.
