Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto Opens Its Doors: Mercedes-AMG, Reigning Champ and an Inside Look at the MANUFAKTUR Atelier

Picture this: a MANUFAKTUR Olive green Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen parked under gallery lighting, a rack of Reigning Champ pieces close enough to touch, and a room of well-dressed guests treating the whole space like it was built for exactly this kind of night. That was the scene on Thursday, July 16th, when Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto welcomed Contempo Media inside Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street flagship — and it was clear from the first hour that this event wasn’t playing by the usual car-event rules.

Contempo Media Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Michael La Fave hosted the evening, pulling together a crowd of entrepreneurs, creatives, and creators. Among them was Sasha Exeter, the first-ever Guest Editor of S magazine, who’s currently working on the Fall 2026 issue.

What that actually means, walking through the space: the debut concept pairs Mercedes-AMG with Reigning Champ, the Vancouver-born premium menswear brand whose obsession with materials and construction has earned it a globally recognized following. It’s a sharp pairing on paper and an even sharper one in person —the Mercedes-AMG SL 63  styled for the runway, and racks of Reigning Champ layered in like it belongs there, because it does. Guests worked the room over cocktails before being walked through the MANUFAKTUR Atelier, where Mercedes-Benz’s personalization studio previewed the bespoke detailing and the almost infinite exterior and interior customization combinations available to Mercedes-Benz owners.

None of this reads as a showroom, and Mercedes-Benz is clearly betting on that distinction. The Studio is framed as a living space rather than a sales floor: it’s set to shift with new creative concepts throughout 2026, so this Mercedes-AMG chapter is a first look, not a fixture.

Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto is open now at Holt Renfrew, 50 Bloor Street West. Go see the Reigning Champ residency and the Mercedes-AMG showcase in person before the space evolves into its next chapter later this year.
