When Jisoo stepped onto the Met Gala steps for the first time, she arrived as only she could; surrounded by a garden. Her custom Dior gown, designed by Jonathan Anderson, was entirely embroidered with florals, three-dimensional bouquets blooming from the fabric as if the dress itself were alive. The beauty followed the same language. Makeup artist Pony, working exclusively with Dior Beauty, seamlessly mirrored the dress. A rosy pink flush across the lids, a dewy bloom on the cheeks, glossy sheer lips—the face was the garden, translated.
For her first Met Gala, Jisoo didn’t just show up; she collaborated. The BLACKPINK singer and Dior global ambassador worked closely with Jonathan Anderson on every element of the custom gown, from the garden embroidery to the three-dimensional floral bouquets that seemed to grow from the fabric itself. In a behind-the-scenes moment captured by Dior, Jisoo opened up about what it meant to bring the look to life—and how personal the process really was.

The Dress
The gown was a collaboration as much as it was a commission. Jisoo worked closely with Jonathan Anderson on every element of the custom Dior creation—a strapless, backless column dress draped in gazar, entirely embroidered with a garden scene and trimmed with three-dimensional floral bouquets that seemed to grow from the fabric itself. A headpiece decorated with fabric flower embroidery completed the look. “When we first heard the theme ‘Fashion is Art,'” Jisoo shared, “Jonathan and I spent a lot of time discussing what kind of design would be best. I contributed many ideas and listened to his as well, and together we were able to complete this beautiful final dress.”
The Beauty
To complete the look, Jisoo tapped her longtime collaborator, makeup artist Pony, who worked exclusively with Dior Beauty to create a face that felt like a natural extension of the gown. The result was a rosy, garden-inspired flush—warm pink lids, luminous dewy skin, and a sheer glossy lip—all built to bloom alongside the embroidery rather than compete with it.

For Jisoo, her first Met Gala was always going to be a moment. As she put it herself — “Because this is a new experience, every moment feels special.”
