The Top Releases from BVLGARI, Tiffany & Co., and Louis Vuitton at LVMH Watch Week

Time, it is said, is the most precious commodity. The designers and craftspeople at BVLGARI, Tiffany & Co., and Louis Vuitton appear to understand this better than most, judging by their latest timepieces, which were recently introduced at LVMH Watch Week in Milan.

At BVLGARI, the rose gold Maglia Milanese Monete secret watch revisits a design created by BVLGARI in the mid-1960s, crafted around an actual 2000-year-old Roman coin. With a mother-of-pearl watch dial concealed by a hinged cover, a ring of brilliant-cut diamonds, and a rose gold Milanese mesh bracelet, it’s equal parts ancient relic and modern luxury. The new Tubogas Manchette likewise spotlights BVLGARI’s legacy of jewellery and watchmaking by reworking this archival icon with a rainbow of citrines, rubellites, peridots, amethysts, topazes, spessartites, and nearly 12 carats of diamonds.

Tiffany & Co., meanwhile, continues to embellish its reputation for first-class watchmaking with three glittering new releases. The first, a limited-edition Tiffany Timer that honours 160 years of watchmaking with a platinum case, refined diamond-inspired details, and a customized El Primero chronograph movement. Next, the Sixteen Stone Mother-of-Pearl watch pays tribute to the legacy of famed designer Jean Schlumberger and is a signature design with its yellow gold cross-stitches anchoring a row of diamonds—no less than 433 of them totalling over 3.8 carats. Last but certainly not least, the Eternity Baguette makes a subtle allusion to Tiffany’s classic Eternity ring, with a diamond-set round case in 18k white gold and a bezel in your choice of baguette-cut gemstones or diamonds.

Louis Vuitton, a relative newcomer to the world of fine watchmaking, continues to establish its bona fides with exceptional creations like the Escale world time collection, whose dial features 24 hand-painted or enamelled flags to correspond with each of the world’s time zones. On a less colourful (but no less luxurious) note, the Convergence Guilloché adds an elaborately hand-engraved case to the model’s unusual “guichet” dial. Not all of the Maison’s new releases, however, are designed to be worn on the wrist. The Louis Vuitton Camionette, a replica of an early 20th-century Louis Vuitton delivery truck housing  a 218-component mechanical clock, is designed to accent a coffee table or desk. All the better to make sure you never forget the preciousness of time.
