Last night, the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards were held in Beverly Hills, celebrating the year’s best in film and television. But beyond the accolades and tear-jerking, heartfelt speeches, the red carpet delivered fashion moments worthy of their own standing ovation. This year, one trend felt impossible to miss: all-black ensembles. Black became the unifying thread across many of the night’s most memorable looks—and here are the few we can surely call our favourites.
Blazing a trail for the rest of the evening, Teyana Taylor wore a Schiaparelli Haute Couture halter-neck gown, styled with Tiffany & Co. archival diamond earrings. But the jaw-dropping detail that had everyone talking? A crystal bow thong that brought a daring, risqué feel to the look. Fresh off her win for best supporting actress for her role in One Battle After Another, Taylor completed her ensemble with a dramatic neck scarf trailing behind her. Cue Cher’s infamous viral line, “Can I hear a little commotion for the dress?”

Ariana Grande also embraced the all-black theme, stepping out in a strapless Vivienne Westwood gown that echoed the whimsical energy of Wicked: For Good, the performance for which she was nominated that evening. The look was styled with an Ariana signature hairstyle throwback—a slicked-back high ponytail—that has become synonymous with her pop icon persona.
Continuing the whimsical streak, Aimee Lou Wood made a rare red carpet appearance in another Vivienne Westwood look. She exuded gothic-fairytale energy in a voluminous, puffed gown adorned with black lace and David Yurman accessories.
CHANEL also made a strong showcase on the carpet, dressing Ayo Edebiri in an elegant off-the-shoulder black velvet gown embellished with resin and pearl brooches, as seen at Matthieu Blazy’s most recent Métiers d’art 2026 runway show. The moment marked Edebiri’s third consecutive nomination in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy category for her work on The Bear.

Edebiri wasn’t the only one in Chanel. Selena Gomez represented the house in a custom black bustier dress adorned with statement yet glamorous white flowers crafted of feathers, silk chiffon, and silk organza. Styled with a retro bob, the look felt like a modern nod to Old Hollywood glamour.
