There can be a notion that luxury isn’t intended for the everyday, that it needs to be set aside for a formal occasion. But Longines has proven for decades that fine watches are meant to be worn.
For nearly 200 years, the Swiss fine watchmakers have led the way in a forward-looking style that combines practicality for wherever life takes you.
The Conquest style was first released in the 1950s and over the many years since, each iteration serves as a time capsule for the decade it was released. The way the Conquest has changed throughout its 70 years is a testament to the brand’s ability to adapt as it continues to capture the sartorial zeitgeist.
It’s a watch so extraordinary, in fact, that it was the first Longines collection to have its name protected by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.
The modern Conquest is available with a stainless steel or bi-material case, sturdy and waterproof up to 100 metres – with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces for visual depth. It’s an impactful appearance that can fit an array of events, bringing the wearer from day to night with ease. It will also keep you at the moment with the knowledge that the self-winding mechanisms and non-magnetic material will ensure each tick of the hand continues to stay on track. The mechanical movement comes equipped with a silicone balance spring.
The new Conquest watches come in multiple sizes; 30 mm, 34 mm, and 38 mm for the three-hand version, and 42 mm for the chronographs, and are available in a variety of colours and materials.
The 34 mm three-hand Conquests feature a green, pink, or blue dial for a delicate pop of colour. The new 30 mm and 38 mm come with steel or diamond-set steel cases. The 30 mm is particularly versatile, with a silver, blue, or green sunray dial available, as well as a white mother-of-pearl with diamonds as hour markers. The 38 mm dial comes in silver, green, blue, black, or champagne sunray.
In addition to the various sizes, Longines keeps comfort and style in mind with a choice of a stainless-steel bracelet with triple safety folding clasp or coloured rubber straps with hourglass motifs, a nod to the brand’s logo – and double safety folding clasp.
Every detail is thought through, from interior to exterior, exhibiting Longines’s dedication to staying at the forefront of innovative fine watchmaking. The Conquest collection is an example of the brand’s consistent performance, with an output that has kept watch aficionados engaged time and time again.
