On December 8th, Coach took its Pre-Fall 2019 men’s and women’s collection to a whole new level—and continent—by lighting up Shanghai. The show took place at Shanghai’s iconic location, The Bund, at West Bund Art Center, with set design influenced by New York City. Bright lights, vintage cars (and at the after party, a sea of Rexy balloons) filled the space, amplifying Creative Director Stuart Vevers‘s vision of merging Shanghai and New York. Special pieces were made in collaboration with cultural icons such as Sui Jianguo, YETI OUT, Zhu Jingyi, and Guang Yu. Each artist reimagined Coach’s signature dinosaur, Rexy, in their own unique way. Key pieces included the chunky platform boots seen on both men and women, elongated tailoring, and reimagined patchwork detailing. The guests in attendance included current face of the brand Chloe Grace Moretz and brand ambassador Kiko Mizuhara. Following the show, guests immediately went into the after party enjoying mini hot dogs, delicious cocktails, and DJ sets from brand ambassador Timmy Xu, collaborator Thomas Bray of YETI OUT, and DJ Dazzy, who kept the crowd dancing long into the night.
