S/ Was There: CHANEL Cruise 2019/2020

All aboard! On May 3rd, CHANEL transformed the Grand Palais into a magical train station under the vision of new director Virginie Viard as she showed her first collection since the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, whom she worked beside for many years. The journey of the Cruise 2019/2020 collection was complete with its own platforms and a cafĂ©, Le Riviera. A palette of bright pink, green, and blue flowed through the collection amongst darker brown, navy, and black pieces, creating a harmony of selection. The collection’s silhouettes, made up of trousers, dresses, shorts, and, as always, stunning tweed jackets, appear to fit the models effortlessly with both style and functionality, perfect for travel or everyday, as well as elevated gowns for formalwear. The looks came adorned with elegant jewellery pieces as well as the latest 11.12 bags, the CHANEL 19 bag, and the CHANEL 31 bag, appearing in new fabrics. Sitting front row were CHANEL ambassadors Charlotte Cardin, Vanessa Paradis with daughter Lily-Rose Depp, Liu Wen, and Keira Knightley. The CHANEL legacy comes from both Mademoiselle Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld and is now being carried on by Virginie Viard with her stunning introductory collection.
