Prada’s Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool Is Luxury Reborn

Prada is extending its circular approach into natural fibres. Following Re-Nylon, Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool begin upstream, at the moment of making, with materials most would write off as leftovers, gathered, sorted, and returned to the production cycle as high-quality yarn.

Re-Cashmere starts with fine spinning residues and offcuts from Prada Group’s own Torgiano facility. They’re sorted by colour, which removes the need for dyeing, then carded and refined into new yarn, with the entire process taking place in Italy. The yarn is crafted into men’s and women’s sweaters made from recycled cashmere.

Re-Wool draws on defective fabrics and cutting-room remainders from across the Prada Group, blending certified virgin wool with recycled wool and a hint of recycled cashmere. It takes shape as trousers, jackets, skirts, and dresses for women, alongside men’s pieces, all built around layering, and made to be lived in rather than to announce themselves.

Every piece carries an NFC tag, giving customers a way to trace their garment’s journey, from the origin of the fibres to the suppliers and processing stages, with a digital certificate of authenticity. Made in Tuscany and Umbria, quantities are limited, and even a recurring shade may never be replicated exactly the next season, a signature of the material’s own history.

Proof that circularity and quality are complementary forces, not opposing ones. Shop the Prada Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool collection at Prada.com.
