For Fall/Winter 2021, Louis Vuitton is unveiling an exciting new collaboration with Italian artistic design atelier Fornasetti. Initiated by Women’s Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière, the collection features the hand-drawn imagery of Fornasetti in multiple designs. The presentation was showcased at the Michelangelo and Daru Galleries in the Louvre, further emphasizing the merging of the fashion and fine art realms. Each design was carefully selected from the 13,000-piece Fornasetti archive, and incorporated into the clothing through techniques such as embroidery and laser printing. The silhouettes in the collection are grand, explorative, and functionally elegant, in striking velvets, tulle, and leather. With a love of evoking the past, Ghesquière plans to expand the Louis Vuitton-Fornasetti capsule collection with a broader range of selections to come in the near future.
