Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami Launch Latest Collaboration at Art Basel Paris

This year at Art Basel Paris, Louis Vuitton returns for the third consecutive year as an associate partner with an outstanding unveiling. Releasing nearly 20 years after the first collaboration collection, the latest Artycapucines VII – Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami collection is now here. Making its grand entrance with an installation shown during Art Basel Paris 2025, Murakami has curated a presentation within the Balcon d’Honneur at the Grand Palais.

The installation is complete with an eight-metre-high sculpture of an octopus with its tentacles custom-made to expand across the space, displaying the 11 creations that make up the collection. Among the 11 pieces are the Capubloom and Capucines East West Rainbow bags, along with three interpretations of the House’s iconic bag, including the Capucines BB Golden Garden, the Capusplit BB, and the Capucines Mini Autograph. Another standout piece is the Capucines Mini Mushroom, featuring nearly 100 3D-printed mushroom characters meticulously hand-embroidered onto the bag.

The collection is presented alongside Murakami’s artworks, from the Plush Balls he has been creating since 1995, to other iconic motifs that are dear to him, such as the Panda character, Cherry Blossoms, and Smiling Flowers. The Artycapucines VII – Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami collection is an extension to an ongoing collaboration that began in 2003 when Murakami was the first artist invited to reinterpret the Houses’ Monogram canvas with his own signature motifs. Since then, the collections have showcased both Murakami and Louis Vuittons’ dedication to artistry and innovation.
