Humbertown Jewellers is Bringing ’80s Glamour With Vintage Keepsakes Straight From its Original Vault

HUMBERTOWN JEWELLERS x S/

Trends come and go, but a piece of beautifully crafted jewellery is truly timeless. Just ask Ferit Tecimer, owner of Toronto’s Humbertown Jewellers and an industry veteran with decades of experience.

Tecimer, who comes from an extended line of jewellers, established his shop in 1980, opening a modest 600-square-foot store with a small collection of items. Today, his retail space spans more than 4,000 square feet and specializes in luxury watches and high-end jewellery.

Since Humbertown’s inception, Tecimer has been curating a collection of one-of-a-kind items with his children and grandchildren in mind, knowing which designs would endure fashion’s repetitive trend cycles. Since celebrating his store’s 40-year milestone, Tecimer was able to reflect on the store’s history and decided to re-release the vintage fineries from his original vault.

Well Stacked

Worn separately or stacked, gold rings never go out of style.

Make It Sparkle

Try gold on its own or set with stones. The mix and match of metals and stones is undeniably elegant.

“Gold is gold. I kept [the pieces] because their designs are so beautiful and timeless,” Tecimer says, noting that we see the same thing happen with clothes, furniture, and even decor.

Simplicity and elegance are core themes of this limited collection, which works seamlessly in a modern wardrobe. Thinner, daintier bangles and chains are perfect for layering. Meanwhile, chunkier items like rings and earrings can make a statement all on their own, Tecimer notes.

At present, Tecimer says he has nearly 100 pieces of fine jewellery straight from his early vault collection, crafted in solid yellow gold. He and his team decided that now was the right time to unveil this special collection because of the recent resurgence of ’80s trends, especially in the jewellery space. The vault collection offers clients the opportunity to buy stylish and authentic adornments.

His advice for making the biggest impact— no matter what style of jewellery catches your eye—is simple: “When you love a piece, it will never go out of style.”

Bold and Gold

For a quintessential ’80s look with a contemporary twist, opt for a simple white collared shirt dramatized with a bold in gold look.
