Hermès SS26: The Spirit of the Saddle

With a free-spirited nature and a heritage touch, the modern-day Hermès equestrian makes her entrance. She steps onto a sandy runway with pieces of broken shells crunching beneath each confident stride of her butter-soft leather riding boots, blending tradition with contemporary poise.

This collection is designed for movement. It draws inspiration from the artisanal craftsmanship of an antique Camargue saddle, sourced from the Hermès archives and evoking the nature-rich, bohemian region of southern France.

Outerwear is the star of this collection, crafted from decadent leathers or quilted linen canvas with asymmetric cuts. Dust coats, inspired by the classic trench, are cinched with leather belts, reflecting the precision of equestrian style. Meanwhile, leather vests and jackets create harmonious looks with expertly layered pieces that add dimension and character.

The iconic Hermès scarves are thoughtfully placed—tucked beneath garments, looped through belts like keychains, wrapped high on the neck like chokers, or even worn as a top for a sultry invitation.

Other noteworthy pieces include dunagree-inspired trousers with harness straps paired with bra tops, where hints of corsetry emerge. Unexpected cycling shorts peek out beneath dresses, blending traditional with an athletic edge. Texturally, all-suede looks add warmth, complemented by a suede Birkin, tying the look together with cohesion.

The colour palette reflected a typical Hermès earthy mosaic: beige, khaki, caramel, brown and black serve as a grounded base, while pops of colour appear through printed patterns or bold red and navy ensembles.

Overall, the collection uses fabrics and textures to highlight artisanal craftsmanship and functionality. In this Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the Hermes woman is shaped by her environment and moves with the wind.
