Alessandro Michele presented Gucci‘s Spring/Summer 2020 runway show in pure Gucci fashion. The Milan show began with 21 white looks emerging into the white space before the lights suddenly went out. Shortly after, the second part of the show began with a shocking lack of print and a surprising amount of black. Regardless of the changes, the collection is still notably Gucci. Presented on over 100 models, it was inspired by breaking society’s regulated rules and combatting its heavy surveillance. A$AP Rocky, Iggy Pop, Sienna Miller, Hari Nef, and Jared Leto were all in attendance to support the show.
Gucci recently announced that it has gone entirely carbon neutral, with the inclusion of its supply chain. This practice was put into place by planting a tree in the Municipality of Milan for every guest that attended the show. The show was also organized within the sustainability standards for events, taking into consideration its environmental, social, and economic impacts.
