Pop icons Dua Lipa and BLACKPINK’s Rosé are the latest global ambassadors to be featured in PUMA’s “Rewrite the Classics” campaign, spotlighting the SPEEDCAT OG—first launched by PUMA in 2004. To mark the 25th anniversary of the design, PUMA has released a racing-inspired visual campaign starring the two pop princesses celebrating the nostalgic roots of the shoe’s design and its impact on street style.
The original PUMA SPEEDCAT was first designed as a performance-driving shoe—inspired heavily by motorsport and racing culture. The sleek shape and low profile quickly gained popularity as a stylish and functional design, both on and off the tracks. Twenty-five years later, the nostalgic design remains as culturally impactful as ever, an effortless staple of street-style tastemakers like Emily Ratajkowski and Troye Sivan.
In the campaign, Dua Lipa and Rosé pay homage to the spirit of innovation and the powerful impact that racing culture has on fashion. Pictured in moody atmospheres and desert landscapes on the two pop stars, the PUMA SPEEDCAT OG is reborn once again—embracing its origins with a modern revamp.
