Dior Celebrates Indian Craftsmanship with Fall 2023 Show in Mumbai

In 1962 Dior’s Artistic Director took an inspirational trip to India that is being revisited by current Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s collection 60 years later. Hosted at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, Dior’s Fall 2023 Ready-To-Wear Collection explored the complex feelings and emotions that connect us to a country and its culture. Accompanied by live Indian music and traditional floral floor art, the show was attended by Bollywood and western celebrities alike. This collection is lively and new, full of matching sets and stunning jewel tones that illuminated the runway. In addition to bold colours, the collection also featured glitter, intricate patterns, and embroidery done by the esteemed Chanakya School of Craft and Chanakya Atelier, both run by Karishma Swali who worked closely on the design of the collection. With sari-inspired straight skirts and traditional Indian silhouettes, the collection is the perfect combination of classic Dior and Indian fashion.
