Bulgari has launched the first docufilm about a High Jewellery Maison, premiering first at Toronto International Film Festival on September 12th, and on Prime Video on September 13th. The film, Inside the Dream, follows Bulgari’s Jewellery Creative Director Lucia Silvestri and her travels to find the fantastic stones in Bulgari pieces. More specifically, the film spotlights Silvestri’s travels to Jaipur, India as she makes the deal to secure the 93.83-carat Colombian cabochon-cut emerald that became the hero piece in the Magnifica High Jewellery collection. The Serpenti Hypnotic Emerald necklace debuted on Zendaya at the 78th Venice Film Festival. The emerald sits in the mouth of the iconic Bulgari snake, appearing as if the snake is protecting, or offering, the gem. The body of the snake surrounds the neck and features pavé-set diamonds, diamond baguettes, and emerald cabochons, taking a total of over 1,800 hours to create.
The film, produced by Terminal9 Studios, dives into the behind-the-scenes world of High Jewellery, showcasing the reality of the process of sourcing gems, designing, and the final product hitting the red carpet. Silvestri is known as “the woman who buys the most extraordinary gemstones in the world,” her passion shines throughout the film as you learn about her mesmerizing work. Bulgari also shines a light on the behind-the-scenes of working with their brand ambassadors with appearances from Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, Chiara Ferragni, and BLACKPINK singer LISA. Inside the Dream is a must-watch film to see the magic behind creation.
