8 Designers That Defined the Modern Bride in 2024

The recent years have brought forward a wave of new bridal designers—and their untraditional yet refined vision for the modern bride. There’s no doubt is a look for every bride, but finding “the one” can be as difficult as finding the right person to marry. But it doesn’t have to be so—with our short list of the most fashion-forward bridal brands to stand out in 2024, it’s much easier to narrow your search.

Danielle Frankel

You’ll want something that feels very much like you in the most elevated way. It’s a concept that designer Danielle Frankel knows all about and exactly how she designs for her brides. The hand-dyed soft tulle dress—Luella, features a delicate English rose applique at the bodice, with layers of tulle circling the rosette at the bust, falling into a draped skirt with a center back zip closure.

WED Studios

For those who never dreamed of being brides, something more unconventional from WED Studios might do the trick. Founded by designers Central Saint Martens classmates Amy Trinh and Evan Phillips in 2019, WED has gained an international reputation for its less-than-conventional take on bridalwear.

BODE

This year saw BODE team up with SSENSE on the SSENSE Exclusive Bridal Capsule, including the Off-White Harbour Maxi Dress, made from silk satin and nylon tulle with intricate panelling, layered construction, and a straight neckline. With button detailing at the front and an a-line skirt, this sweet and classic design is sure to be a timeless pick for your day down the aisle.

Shushu/Tong

Also part of the SSENSE Bridal capsule, Shanhai-based label Shushu/Tong‘s Off-White Ruched Maxi Dress features an unconventional blend of wool and nylon fabric, with ruching and floral patterns throughout. Supportive boning at the chest provides structure while satin bow appliqués at the front add a sweet detail to the otherwise minimal gown.

Tanner Fletcher

Of course, we can’t quite get Tanner Fletcher‘s bow-adorned suit out of our heads either. The brainchild of design duo Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kassel reaches for elements of romance and nostalgia to tell a story of modern youth and sentimental yearning—an excellent choice for couples who want to wear matching label’s on their big day.

Jacquemus

On the flip side, for the unfussy bride, Jacquemus‘s breezy, simple sheaths could be perfect. The Noiva Dress is made from 100% viscose, falling at a maxi length with thin straps, and lined in stretch muslin right up to the slit for comfort. The straight-cut gown features a side slit with a long asymmetric train—let the accessories shine or channel your inner Carolyn Bassett-Kennedy by going jewellery-free.

Simone Rocha

For the more is more bride, there are Simone Rocha‘s striking tulle gowns and pearl accessories. The Frill Cascade Cape Dress (Look 11 on the runway) is made from 100% silk organza and features a bold cape silhouette. The unlined design creates a semi-sheer effect, with pleated details at the neckline and arm slits on both sides for comfort.

Collina Strada

The New York-based Collina Strada is known as the colourful blueprint for eclectic and dreamy ready-to-wear. Naturally, its take on the modern bride reflects the whimsical world in which it operates—the Off-White Meadowsweet Maxi Dress is handcrafted from semi-sheer silk organza, featuring raw edges and pleats with floral appliques throughout. The drapey and layered construction is reflected in the sweetheart neckline and asymmetric hem, accentuating the natural form.
