One look at CHANEL’s summer makeup collection and you’ll understand why it’s called Jardin Imginaire, which translates to Imaginary Garden in English. 

Created by Ammy Drammeh, a Global Makeup Creative Partner and CHANEL’s Comètes Collective member, the collection channels the magical energy of a mystical and beautiful dream.

“I wanted to build a bridge between reality and fiction,” Drammeh explains. “I was inspired by fairy tales and stories that describe nature as an enchanted place saturated with colour, where flowers resemble jewels and where harmonious light reflects the most surprising textures. I wanted to add unexpected vibrant nuances and treat each colour like a tool, to be used with skill.” 

The result is a collection of rich colours in varied shades, each acting as an invitation for unique and personal expression.

“Personally, I see colour as allure. It can’t be explained. Choosing a colour is very spontaneous, very intuitive and very natural,” says Drammeh. “With this collection, I wanted to provide the opportunity to be free and to wear the colours that resemble us.” 

In this iteration, CHANEL’s 3-in-1 Stylo Ombre et Contour pen is available in electric greens, luminous oranges, fuchsia pinks and violet blues.

Drammeh also created two new blush and highlighter palettes. For the first, she chose a warm peach blush and gold highlighter reminiscent of the sunset. The second is a matte pink fuchsia blush and pearlescent pink highlighter which Drammeh explains was “inspired by the colours seen in certain summer flowers such as dahlias.” The collection also includes new eyebrow pencils, illuminating glow sticks, and nail polish.
