Beauty Radar: Summer Products You Need to Know

SUMMER ZEST
This summer’s fragrance top notes and bottles are full of citrus compositions. Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue Italian Zest Eau de Toilette will transport you to sunny days in Capri thanks to an added squeeze of Calabrian lemon on a floral base, while Valentino’s new Donna Rosa Verde Eau de Toilette offers up a garden-inspired scent that mixes notes of green rose with bergamot and magnolia. Iris Rebelle by Atelier Cologne opens with bursts of Moroccan orange flower, and finishes with subtle hints of black pepper and lavender. Lastly, Prada’s Mandarine Eau de Parfum is the first citrus infusion of the Les Infusions collection, and the only one that balances the sweet and tangy dichotomy of the mandarin fruit. Add any or all to your summer beauty routine for an instant scent makeover.

BATH TIME
Ready for some R&R? This summer, Biotherm is focusing on making what’s old new again. Based on its heritage in healing waters, the brand is introducing new products for three shower and bath rituals. Drawing inspiration from ancient infused baths with healing benefits, each trio of cleansing foam, scrub, and moisturizer has the power to transform an everyday bathing routine into a healing moment. Whether you choose the blend of ginger and peppermint, goji berries and rosemary, or grapefruit and sage, the aromatic trio will work to soften, smooth, and brighten skin. It might just be everything you need for your next self-care Sunday.

DARE TO BARE
Striking the balance between fresh-faced and made up is no easy feat, but this summer, Giorgio Armani Beauty has done it with their latest release. Focused on highlight, contour, and blush, the Neo Nude collection includes all the essentials needed to achieve the “no makeup” makeup look. While the cool browns for contour are formulated to blend seamlessly into the skin and define the face, the blushes—which come in every shade from light to dark pink, and even orange—deliver a natural flush. The highlighters in light pink and champagne set the skin with the slightest sheen, which catches light in all the right places. Each of these water-based products melts and blends as it builds for a finish that looks effortlessly natural.

BACK IN BLACK
If skincare goals are about products that look as good as they perform, then Nannette de Gaspé takes the prize. For her latest skincare-focused collection, Art of Noir, the Canadian beauty innovator Nannette de Gaspé Beaubien turned to some of today’s trendiest ingredients for inspiration. “We kept hearing about kombucha, a black tea ferment,” says de Gaspé Beaubien. She began researching more black foods, like cumin and super fruits, and decided to build her new skincare products around them. Each product is a true multi-tasker designed with multiple benefits in mind. “A cleanser is just not a cleanser; an exfoliator is just not an exfoliator,” says de Gaspé Beaubien. “We put a lot of treatment ingredients in them, and they do multiple things,” she continues. “In the case of the cleanser, we sourced a very strong vitamin C from the Kakadu plum. It’s the most powerful for brightening, revitalizing, and firming.” In addition to the cleanser, the Art of Noir collection features tonic, polish, cleaning cloths, face and lip balm, and a roller.
