On May 29th, the second annual Canadian Women Entrepreneur Gala (CWE) hosted 350 attendees in Toronto in celebration and promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion among women entrepreneurs. This year’s theme was “Ascend” which embodied the pursuit of new heights displayed through universe-inspired design and AI-powered visuals created by Max Andranov of Theta Realms. A video message from Dr. Sian Proctor, the first female commercial spaceship pilot, and a motivational speech by Anna Sinclair, founder of Total Mom Inc., kicked off the evening in an inspiring way.

Hosted by Nkechi Nwafor-Robinson and Sonia Mangat, the event gathered top corporations, executives, entrepreneurs, and influencers to celebrate collective achievements and inspire future inclusivity and power in business. Throughout dinner, guests heard from the inspiring winners throughout the many categories, from Gender Equality in the Workplace to Creating Young Changemakers. Following dessert, the four finalists for the Total Mom Pitch, presented by Intuit QuickBooks and powered by Bell Canada, competed live for the $50K grand prize of funding and business resources, where Miki Talebi of oomé ultimately won. The positive energy and music by DJ Lissa flowed through the evening before coming to a close with a special performance by Dragonette and VIP gift bags from sponsors.
