LINCOLN x S MAG

Nothing feels quite as good as getting on the road while most of the city is still sleeping. Down on Toronto’s waterfront, the first light stretches across the lake, and a few ambitious runners clock their early morning kilometres. Being up at this hour is made even sweeter when the day ahead holds very few responsibilities and somewhere beautiful to go.

Elora, a picturesque town northwest of Toronto, is a good choice for that kind of day. Close enough to the GTA for a day trip, the historic village has enough to fill an afternoon without requiring much planning: a charming coffee shop, a walk along the Grand River, a few art galleries, and somewhere to settle in for lunch. Getting there leaves time for a countryside stop along the way, too, which is part of the appeal of taking the 2027 Lincoln Navigator Black Label.

A comfortable cabin makes an early departure easier to appreciate. Heated and ventilated front seats accommodate a cool morning and a warmer afternoon. Lincoln Black Label also offers three designer-curated interior themes. Enlighten, inspired by sunrise, brings together warm beige leather-trimmed seats, ornate Horizon Grid trim, and a suede-like ebony headliner, with Opulence leather seating surfaces extending through the first and second rows. There’s plenty of space to get comfortable for the drive ahead.

As the route leads out of Toronto, the customizable 48-inch panoramic display keeps information within the driver’s line of sight, arranged according to personal preferences. It’s a useful detail when navigating unfamiliar roads, particularly once the highway gives way to smaller town lines that run alongside farmland. There are plenty of quiet places to pull over—and a good excuse to spend a little longer in the countryside.

A break usually means a quick stop to stretch. Inside the vehicle, that can also include Lincoln Rejuvenate*, a multisensory experience incorporating massage, lighting, scent, sounds, and screen visuals to provide a personal recharge in five or 10 minutes, while the vehicle is in park. It’s a standard feature in the 2027 Lincoln Navigator Black Label. The Waterfall Meditation theme, for example, fills the panoramic display with calming visuals of water cascading down a mountainside. Taking a beat to slow down feels like a worthwhile use of a day away, especially for anyone who tends to fill every free minute with something that needs doing.

Once in Elora, it’s best to park and explore on foot. The historic limestone buildings give the village its unique character. The Grand River, which runs through town, is a must for a quick photo op, followed by a walk toward Victoria Park and the Upper Grand Gorge Trail, where the landscape reveals steep rock walls. It’s worth leaving time for both the village streets and the gorge—together, they prove why such a small town can keep an entire afternoon’s attention. Lunch fits in between—there are several refined dining options to choose from—and getting a coffee for the drive home is entirely reasonable.

Back at the 2027 Lincoln Navigator Black Label, its substantial proportions look at home among the village’s stately stone buildings. Loading up to go back to the city is made easier by the Lincoln Split Gate: it can open automatically after a few seconds nearby with the key in a pocket, making it easier to pack away any purchases when hands are full. With belongings put away and everyone comfortably seated, the return to Toronto becomes another part of the outing to enjoy. Elora provides a change of scenery, but it’s the 2027 Lincoln Navigator Black Label that makes the time on the road to and from feel well spent.

*Lincoln Rejuvenate does not operate unless the vehicle is in Park, when the vehicle is off, or if any door is open. Do not use the feature in a closed garage or in other enclosed areas.
