Yesterday, FENDI revealed Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut show for the Fall/Winter 2026-27 collection during Milan Fashion Week.
Rejoining the Roman house after departing from Dior, this show was highly anticipated. Chiuri previously held a decade-long position at FENDI as a young designer, where she co-designed the iconic Baguette Bag, which Sex and the City made oh-so-famous. Now considered one of the most influential designers of her generation, her return to Rome (and FENDI) feels nothing short of poetic and full circle.

The catwalk was emblazoned with the phrase “less I, more us,” a motto the designer used to guide her approach to this season’s design. It also nods to the feminine force that fuels the brand, with five generations of Fendi women having shaped the design language —and mentoring Chiuri in her formative years.
This female-led approach is no surprise. Chiuri’s Dior era was remembered for her “We Should All Be Feminists” viral tee inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s essays. It’s safe to say she’s carrying that ‘girl power’ narrative with her into this new chapter at FENDI.
With this collection, traditional categories are redefined. Here, men and women walk the runway together to overcome the distinction between gendered wardrobes. Here, a jacket is the same for both; the only difference is size and measurement.
The show was further filled with trusted classics and opened with a black tailored suit atop a crisp white shirt. What followed were pieces with animal prints or fur coats— a nod to the material that founded the house. Eveningwear and gowns were also a highlight, coming in lace or sheer fabrics.
Among the A-list attendees were stars like Dakota Fanning, Shailene Woodley, Jessica Alba, Monica Bellucci, Iris Law, Uma Thurman, and more. What a way to kick off a new chapter at FENDI.
