Libby Page, the Senior Fashion Market Editor at Net-a-Porter, was in Milan to cover the shows for Milan Fashion Week. Follow along as Libby takes us through the shows that took place in some of the cities top venues.
How do you decide what to wear to the shows?
“I am a uniform dresser, so I wear to the shows what I would wear to the office but just amped up slightly. I plan in advance, and pack by outfits. When you’re on the road you have limited time to get ready in the morning so this limits the ‘what should I wear today’ dilemma.”
What has been your favourite outfit?
“My favourite outfit, either Joseph‘s grey cape, or Deveaux‘s amber coat, I love to be comfortable so that I can feel confident and with the rain and wind that we’ve been blessed with this fashion week, this outfits made we feel warm and cosy.”
What were some of the standout shows for you this season?
What are some noteworthy fashion and accessory trends coming out of Milan Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2020?
“Some emerging trends we saw on the runways included tons of head-to-toe leather from Jil Sander to Gabriela Hearst, and the grab and go clutch that Bottega Veneta masters every season.”
Are there any key elements that set Milan Fashion Week apart from the other fashion weeks?
“Milan Fashion Week always has an undeniable elegance. The big, heritage brands show in Milan – Gucci, Prada, Bottega Veneta – it’s definitely one I look forward to every season.”
Do you have any favourite moments from attending fashion week?
“The Gucci show is always a captivating experience – from the clothes to the production, it is always an undeniable favourite.”
