Living a creatively fulfilling life and remaining stylish while doing so, is the main focus at BB Dakota. This past January, the brand launched a collaborative series with Petra Collins under the mantra #ITSONLYFASHION. Petra Collins is currently curator of the online collective, Ardorous, but started her photographic career at the age of 15. Her style of photography showcases self-discovery, femininity, and has been described as “unflinchingly honest.”
Making Space is an experimental documentary series about teen dancers in America. Petra Collins, accompanied by her sister Anna Collins and their two friends, road trip from New Orleans to Death Valley. Along the way detours are made to interview teenage dancers to discover what dance means to them, and what it’s like to be young in 2015.
The three-piece documentary, along with five behind the scenes films are under the unique direction of Petra Collins. The videos will premiere on BB Dakota’s website over the course of four months. Each behind-the-scenes video features BB Dakota’s Spring 2015 collection worn by Petra and her three friends. Using the videos and the mantra #ITSONLYFASHION, BB Dakota suggests the way you live is more important than the way you dress.
