FENDI Presents “The Dawn of Romanity” Couture 2019-2020

Fendi showcased its Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection on July 4th against the monumental backdrop of Colle Palatino, in the heart of Ancient Rome. The 54-look show (one for every year of Karl Lagerfeld’s tenure) titled “The Dawn of Romanity” delivered an assortment of ancient marble and mosaic prints, maxi coats, light fur stalls, and billowing sheer ballgowns. The tone of the show was set with nostalgic ’70s inspired bowl wigs and XL retro shades. Models glided down the paths in the Temple of Venus to an eerie live performance by Italian composer Caterina Barbieri, which fit the show perfectly. Following the presentation, celebrities and fashion’s front row enjoyed a dinner on the ancient grounds with Creative Director Silvia Venturini Fendi. The event came to a close with a performance by New York R&B duo, Lion Babe.
