S/ Was There: CHANEL Fall 2020 Ready-to-Wear Collection at Grand Palais

CHANEL‘s artistic director of fashion collections, Virginie Viard described the Fall 2020 Ready-to-Wear collection as “a very simple, very pure momentum. Romanticism but without any flourishes. Emotions but without any frills.” The clothing was stripped down to the core of classic CHANEL designs, leading the house to a new era of wearable looks in black, white, and hints of pale green and pink—and for the first time, press studs are featured on the suits. Models walked in pairs or groups of three down the runway, sometimes in conversation, for an unconventional and light runway mood. CHANEL ambassadors and friends of the brand Margaret Qualley and Janelle Monáe sat front row for the runway show at the gorgeous transformed Grand Palais in Paris.
