3 Interior Design Trends on Our Radar for 2016

Each winter, design aficionados gather to explore and celebrate the year’s leading names in furniture and home décor at the Interior Design Show (January 21–24, 2016), hosted by the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. And, each year, visitors leave feeling inspired and excited to welcome in the new year, and to finally tackle the “redecorating” project on their list of resolutions. Woven throughout this year’s showcase were three key trends that we’ve broken down for your viewing pleasure. Happy decorating!

LESS IS MORE

minimalistic

Sculptural shapes and minimalist palettes continue to dominate today’s design landscape. These seating options will contribute to the clean, crisp environment we’re loving this year.

WILD ABOUT WOOD

Wood

In our increasingly plastic and high-tech world, it’s always refreshing when designers turn to Mother Nature for inspiration. For these pieces, the aging tree rings are the only embellishment needed.

PAINTERLY POPS

colourFor those searching for the perfect statement piece to add a dash of colour to their home, this year’s array saw plenty of pieces in high-voltage hues. From quilted textiles to colour-blocked dressers, these are the finds that really caught our eye.
